During the 11-day World Conservation Congress, leading scientists and policy staff from The Nature Conservancy — including Mark Tercek, president and CEO of the Conservancy — will meet with more than 8,000 world leaders in sustainable development to share ideas, debate and find solutions to the pressing environmental issues of our time.

The scope of this meeting presents the Conservancy with a unique opportunity to influence the global conservation agenda.

The broad themes discussed during the Congress include:

  • the impact of climate change, energy demands and globalization on biodiversity;
  • the role healthy ecosystems play in maintaining livelihoods; and
  • solutions to ensuring the world's biodiversity is conserved for future generations.

Throughout the Congress, this site will keep nature.org visitors, conference attendees and the press updated on WCC news and events. Click on the links below to read articles, blog posts and press releases related to the WCC.

In an effort to conserve resources we've also posted links to Conservancy documents that are available at the WCC. We encourage attendees to access these documents here rather than taking paper copies.
